Healthbar with energy

Partially filled energy bar

Energy is a resource in Atlas Reactor, which is used to power certain powerful abilities. A Freelancer's current energy can be seen beneath their health bar as a yellow line that fills up as the Freelancer's energy increases. When it hits the maximum amount, the word 'MAX' is visible on the bar to mark it.

Earning energy

A Freelancer with 100 energy

Energy is mainly earned by using both offensive and defensive abilities, but a few Freelancers such as

can earn energy through taking damage. All Freelancers also passively gain 5 energy every turn.

A Freelancer can earn up to 100 energy, at which point any other energy earned is wasted. The amount of energy that will be earned with an ability can be seen hovering as a yellow number to the left of the Freelancer's health bar. The following things can affect energy gain for a Freelancer:

  • The Energy Power-up increases energy gain by 50% for abilities.
  • Mods can modify abilities to give more (or less) energy.
  • Offensive abilities that miss the target give no energy.

Using energy

Energy is spent mainly on using each Freelancers' fifth or ultimate ability, which is typically the most powerful ability in each Freelancer's kit. Generally these can only be used when the Freelancer's energy is at 100 and will use up all of their energy, but in certain cases such as

they can be used earlier and/or consume less energy.

has a unique way to use energy that is discussed more in-depth on his Freelancer page.
